prayer request

today i found out something very sobering. have you ever felt like some of your friends are falling apart and you can't do anything to stop it. that is what i feel like. a couple years ago i went to a camp in michigan with my church. i met this guy there named nick. that week we got to be really good friends. last year he came down for a week and it was really good to see him again, and while he was down here i met his dad. his dad is a very sweet man. well, today i found out that nick ran away from home. he ran away because he met this girl that he really liked and his parents didn't want him to like her because she was not the kind of girl that his parents wanted him to date. needless to say he got upset at this and decided his parents were too hard on him so he ran away to a teen shelter. while he was there he told them that his parents had harsh rules and that nobody has rules like that and that his parents were bad people. well, he finally went back and after just a little while he ran away again. you can only imagine what pain this family is going through after having their son run away for the second time. now, social services is threatening to take away their other two children. this is probably sooooo hard family right now. i am very disappointed and hurt with the way nick is acting. this relationship is a fleeting thing and he is throwing away a relationship with his father and his family that is irreplacable. i am soo burdened for him right now. i came home and cried. i don't know what to do. i had no idea that he was like this. i thought he was such a nice guy, and at one time i liked him a lot. i feel betrayed. how could someone change like that. all i am asking of you guys is to pray for him and his family as they don't know where he is right now and that nick would come back to his family and to the Lord. maybe he will be like the prodigal son. i pray that the Lord will melt his hard heart towards his dad. just pray. that is what he needs the most. thank you, guys.
